7ed62ba639 Commit canvas work to trunk. Note that the Canvas layer is *not production 
ready* -- it is a memory hog, and slow as heck when dragging. However, 
including it doesn't harm OpenLayers.

841fdcbfb3 split Util.js into two files. BaseTypes.js will contain all the OL Base types, such as Pixel, LonLat, Bounds, etc., as well as all the standard javascript basetypes (string, number, etc) extensions. All else remains in Util.js. In theory I have fixed all dependencies. If this doesn't work, I'll rollback.

b6d91edda4 EventPane now works -- puts a transparent pane over a layer and passes events through it down to the map.

10d55bd72a remove document.write() call that loaded the gmaps script in google.js. from now on, the user is responsible for adding that script tag to his/her page. Add a test to make sure gmaps code base is loaded before trying to initialize new gmap2. update isBaseLayer() to return true only if gmaps is correctly loaded. finally, protect all methods if this.gmap is null, do nothing. update OpenLayers.js to now include Google.js and library.cfg to not exclude it.

9f0a77aa92 Add PermaLink control. Add test for permalink control. This control will automatically center and zoom the map to lat/lon/zoom args, and allows you to set an <a> element whose href is modified when the map moves. controls.html implements an example.

d7bb634cce Add GeoRSS layer and example. Only support for georss:point for the time being. Probably has a fair number of cases where it can fail, but it works for a first run, and the community can build from here :)

e0c564c0e3 Add worldwind support to OpenLayers. To define a worldwind layer, you need a URL, a lzd (level zero degrees), a maxZoom level, and a param name 'T' to define the map you're pulling from.

98ed96e4ec OpenLayers.Layer.KaMap, for displaying KaMap-tiles in OpenLayers. Currently specific to the example -- needs work on determining 'scale' from resolution. possibly just simple math. I'm not sure yet.

MouseToolbar work. This is working for zoombox -- except for clicking for a second time to turn off the mode in the modal toolbar. 
 
 Also, no support for other tools yet.

334fb4c2ed Add start of a KeyboardDefaults class. This works, but because Keyboard events apparently always happen on the document level, I haven't yet figured out how to have them only happen when you're 'focused' on the map, so these are currently off by default. To test them, map.addControl(new OpenLayers.Control.KeyboardDefaults()); in your HTML file.

563b828ede Migrate Map MouseControls to MouseDefaults.js. This moves event handling into a control, where we can modify it and edit it without mucking about in the main map class, bringing this portion of the code more into line with the way other aspects of the controls situation work.

519fb6da15 Add working version of text file layer. (For those of you playing along at home, this was about 45 minutes of work -- part of which was trying to figure out why the data file wouldn't work, only to find out I had expandtab on in vim -- so I wasn't typing tabs, i was typing spaces!) 
This has uncovered the fact that there is some logical error in our code somewhere: Visit markers.html then click the purple marker repeatedly.  Despite the fact that you start clicking in the sea, the marker moves north, as does your center point.

This text file layer does not yet support popups or anything else, just drawing the images at a lat/lon with an 'image' given in the textfile.

54c0403850 add LayerSwitcher control. Currently, when added, this will simply loop through all the map layers, display a div (with text in it) which allows you tu turn the layer on or off. Layer visibility is a new concept in Layer.js, including a getter and setter, which uses the style.visibility prop to change the status of the layer.

46035298a5 Begin work on Google Maps Layer. In order to create this layer, layer div creation has been moved into Layer.js, and the div that is created is then slotted into the right place by the map.addLayer function. (This is so that, at layer creation time, a div is available). However, it seems like Google Maps does not know how large the div is for reasons I don't yet understand, and there'se also the fact that our zoom levels differ from Google's at the moment. But it's getting there.
